Prior to founding Avature in 2004, Dimitri co-founded HotJobs.com in 1997. As Chief Operating Officer and later CEO, Dimitri’s responsibilities at HotJobs.com included the direct management of all of its business activities. Dimitri took HotJobs.com public on the NASDAQ (HOTJ) in 1999 and grew the company to over 100MM in revenue before it was acquired by Yahoo! in 2002 for 433MM. When purchased, HotJobs.com was pro-forma profitable, cash flow positive, and the 49th most visited site on the Internet.
From 2002 to 2009, Dimitri served on the Board of Directors of Zhaopin.com. Headquartered in Beijing, Zhaopin (ZPIN/SEEK) is the second largest employment website in China.
Dimitri is a noted authority on the labor market and has appeared on CNNfn, CNN, Fox News, The Fox News’ Cavuto Report, and CNBC Power Lunch, and has been featured in Business Week, The New York Daily News, Investor’s Business Daily, and other print publications.
Dimitri is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he obtained a BA in biophysics. In his post-graduate research at the University of Illinois, Dimitri used Cray supercomputers to model macromolecular movements. His graduate research has been cited in over 30 scientific publications, including Nature.
