Avature

Avature is committed to providing digital accessibility for all users of our SaaS Platform.  We closely monitor and evaluate the legal and technical issues that impact accessibility and apply the relevant standards as soon as commercially possible.

Supporting Accessibility

Avature takes the following measures to support accessibility:

  • We include accessibility as part of our corporate mission statement.
  • We operate an ongoing task force that evaluates, unifies and prioritizes all our accessibility efforts.
  • We consider users with accessibility needs during our software and website design processes.
  • We work openly with our customers in supporting their accessibility compliance needs, including assistance in accessibility testing methods for custom portals designed by them.

Avature and WCAG

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) has been developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (“W3C”), a non-governmental organization that sets international standards for web services and technologies. WCAG defines how designers and developers can improve accessibility for people with disabilities and is commonly adopted by regulatory bodies as an appropriate benchmark for determining accessibility compliance.

In fulfilling its accessibility obligations, Avature follows the WCAG 2.1 AA standard:

  • Our website and our SaaS platform are constantly enhanced in order to maintain WCAG compliance.
  • We offer configuration functionality to our customers so that their publicly-facing web portals (for example, career sites) can be aligned with WCAG.

Considerations

Avature takes accessibility matters seriously. While we are continuously improving, we acknowledge that there are technical limitations that might prevent those with accessibility needs from effectively making use of all the features and functions of our platform. We prioritize how we address accessibility issues so that attention goes toward improving the most-used parts of our platform first.

In performing configuration and design services for our customers, we encourage accessibility considerations to form part of the discussions.

Technical Specifications

Accessibility of the Avature platform relies generally on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Avature’s UI Framework for JavaScript

For our website and for web portals visible to the general public, we find that it is best to use Google Chrome web browser using either JAWS or NVDA, or the Mozilla Firefox web browser using NVDA.

Assessment Approach and Evaluation

We assess how our platform meets accessibility guidelines using commercial accessibility testing tools and by consulting with third-parties who specialize in accessibility evaluations.
