Although Avature is not required to make a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the United Kingdom’s Modern Slavery Act 2015 nor under part 1 of the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018, we are making this voluntary statement to demonstrate our commitment to ethical trading principles and to set out the steps taken by Avature during 2023 to identify the risks of and to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and in our supply chains.
Avature opposes slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We have zero-tolerance for any form of modern slavery in our business. We are committed to preventing and detecting it as well as to improving our practices to mitigate the risks of it occurring.
This statement outlines the steps we have taken in 2023 to understand potential modern slavery risks within our business structure and supply chain, and as well as the steps taken to mitigate these risks.
About us
We are a global company that develops, designs, maintains and delivers a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution to support enterprise talent acquisition and talent management processes, including SaaS consulting, training and support activities to customers in relation to the use of the SaaS solution.
Our supply chains mainly consist of IP Carriers and Datacenter providers. We do not believe there is a high risk of modern slavery or human trafficking occurring within our supply chains given that we operate in the software sector and do not have intricate supply chains, multiple contractors or subcontractor levels, or vendor relationships with large manufacturing businesses where modern slavery and human trafficking could be a problem.
Policies
Avature’s Code of Conduct and Code of Conduct for Suppliers reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure ethical issues, including modern slavery and human trafficking, are not taking place anywhere in our company or supply chains.
Due diligence and risk assessment
To help identify and monitor the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain we require all vendors and suppliers to adhere to Avature’s Code of Conduct for Suppliers. This policy requires vendors and suppliers to comply with applicable laws, maintain a high ethical standard and specifically includes the obligation of not participating or benefiting from any form of modern slavery. Additionally, Avature has the ability to audit and conduct due diligence processes in respect of our suppliers and vendors by assessing human and labor rights, environment and business ethics-related risks.
Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we also provide training to our staff globally.
Further steps
Following a review of the existing measures we have implemented to guard against the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains, we intend to take the following additional steps to combat slavery and human trafficking:
- Evaluating how Avature can improve the knowledge and awareness of our staff;
- Improving the processes we have in place for mitigating risk within our organization and the supply chain; and
- Broaden the communication with workers relating to awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking and the means they have to report a suspected incident.
This voluntary modern slavery and human trafficking statement has been approved by Silvina Maeso, VP of Legal Affairs & Dan Kejsefman, Talent Director.
